Due to its similarity with the widespread user/password scheme, DIAS can be used with mainline protocols such as HTTP, IMAP, etc. without modifying them too much.
- There exists an additional need, from the server point of view, to tell the client what the DIAS agent's JID is.
- For the user to send the ticket to the server, when there is a strict user/password mechanism (e.g. HTTP "Basic" authentication) it should generally make sense to send the ticket as a password, with an empty username.
The following documents describe how to integrate DIAS within some existing protocols. This list will probably grow up in the future.
